The Seasons of Life
Plus: The importance of mastering a morning routine
Hey there,
I hope you’ve had a great week and a half since last week’s newsletter. I don’t know about you, but lately, I’ve really been feeling the change in seasons. Which is what I thought I’d talk about in today’s newsletter.
The Seasons of Life
We’re a little over a month into Fall, and let me tell you that it's one of my favorite seasons. I love the changing colors, the slightly cooler weather (Yay, hoodie season), and my absolute favorite thing: PUMPKIN SPICE everything!
But, last week, I started to feel a bit “off.” I couldn’t quite explain it, but I didn’t feel like my usual energetic and optimistic self.
Then, as I was running Friday morning and observed the world around me with its changing colors and falling leaves, I thought, “Maybe, just like Mother Nature, I, too, am transitioning through seasons.” So that’s what I thought about for the rest of my run, and once I got home, I sat down at my computer and began writing.
Right now, nature is gently reminding us of the power of release. Just like fall, you, too, must shed your leaves. You need to look at what no longer serves you, whether it’s habits, mindsets, or attachments, and pause and ask yourself, “What do I need to release to make space for who I’m becoming?”
This process of shedding layers and letting go can feel extremely heavy and overwhelming. It takes incredible courage to release familiar parts of yourself, especially if the parts you must let go of have helped you through tough times or it’s been a while since you last reflected on who you are and who you want to be.
But just as the trees lose their leaves to conserve energy through winter, releasing what no longer serves you and what holds you back allows you to nurture and create space for who you need to be to live the life you want. Shedding your layers now allows you to align with what truly matters so that during winter, you can nurture what you need to bloom come spring.
I know change can feel scary and like you’re losing something, but letting go creates the space to nurture what you need to grow. And though spring may seem distant, where you are now is so important. You’re setting the stage for new opportunities, self-discoveries, and a more vibrant version of yourself to emerge.
So, honor the process because every season serves a purpose. Trust that what you must let go of is for your highest good.

Morning Routine Mastery.
Mornings are my favorite—they always have been. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I learned how mastering your morning routine sets you up to Carpe Diem.
A solid morning routine sets the tone for your day. It creates a foundation that supports focus, productivity, and emotional balance. When you start the day with intention, you set a framework that prioritizes your goals and growth, which creates momentum for the rest of the day.
Here’s what my morning looks like:
4:30 AM: Alarm goes off
4:30 - 5:00 AM: Cuddles with my wife (supports our shared love languages of quality time and physical touch, which positively fosters our relationship)
5:00 - 6:15 AM: Coffee + Writing
6:15 - 6:45 AM: Pack lunches + say goodbye to wife and son.
6:45 - 7:30 AM: Run or walk the dog
7:30 - 8:00 AM: Morning meditation + breakfast
8:00 - 8:30 AM: Shower and leave for work
My routine helps clear my mental clutter and allows me to focus on what’s important. It also allows me to work on my goals and growth, which helps me feel like I’ve accomplished something before leaving the house.
So, if you don’t already have a morning routine, I encourage you to build one that works for you. By taking time each morning to center yourself and prioritize what’s important to you and your growth, you will create alignment and momentum, leading to a more productive and positive day.
Until next time, keep going and keep growing.
