Three things to help build a better YOU this new year.

Plus: Affirmations Flashcards

Hey there,

Day 1: New Year, New You?

Happy Day 1 of 2025. You have 364 blank pages in your life storybook waiting for you to write on them. But that question mark in the header wasn’t placed there by accident. Many start the year with grand goals and intentions (I used to be one of them) only to find themselves “off the wagon” just a few months in. But that’s not going to be you this year. Why? Because today, I want to share three key practices that will help you become a better version of yourself in 2025: clarity, movement, and affirmations.

Clarity: Know Who You Are and What You Want

Imagine trying to navigate a road trip without a map or destination. Life can feel the same way year after year if you’re unsure of who you are or where you want to go. Clarity is about uncovering your deepest desires and defining your vision for the future.

  • How to Find Clarity: Take some time to journal your thoughts over the next few days. Ask yourself hard questions like, “What do I truly want?” and “What does my ideal life look like?” Don’t hold yourself back because you’re scared or ashamed. Honesty is a powerful prerequisite to clarity. Sometimes, coming clean, especially to ourselves, about what you really want is extremely inspirational.

  • Align Your Goals and Habits: Once you’ve asked yourself the hard questions and painted a picture of what you want your life to look like, set intentional goals that align with it. Be sure to manage your expectations here. You’re not going to achieve your ideal life vision in a year. But through small, intentional goals that you make habits, over time, you’ll get closer to the life you want.

When you’re clear about who you are and what you want, decision-making becomes easier. You’ll find yourself making intentional choices that align with who you want to be and the life you want to live, and you’ll navigate through challenges with more confidence and purpose.

Movement: Move Your Body with Purpose

Movement isn’t just about exercise; it’s about honoring your body and using it in ways that feel empowering and energizing.

  • Find What Feels Good: There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to movement. Whether it’s yoga, dance, walking, or weightlifting, choose activities that you enjoy and that make you feel alive.

  • Embrace Consistency: Small, consistent actions have a big impact. Even a 10-minute stretch or walk can improve your mood and energy.

When you move your body, you’re not just improving your physical health - you’re also boosting your mental and emotional well-being. And when you feel good, you’re more likely to take positive actions in other areas of your life.

Affirmations: Cultivate a Positive Inner World

Your mindset is one of the most powerful tools you have. Affirmations are a way to reframe your thoughts and create a more positive, empowering inner dialogue. And trust me when I say that this is one of the most important things you could ever do.

  • Start Simple: Choose affirmations that resonate with you. For example, “I am capable of achieving my goals” or “I deserve love and success.”

  • Make It a Daily Habit: Speak your affirmations aloud, write them down, or repeat them in your mind each day. Pair them with moments like brushing your teeth or before your morning coffee.

Affirmations aren’t just about thinking positively - they’re about shifting your beliefs and cultivating a mindset that aligns with the person you want to become.

Your New Year Action Plan!

This week, take one step toward clarity, movement, and affirmations. Write down your vision for the year, try a new physical activity, or create a list of inspiring affirmations. Remember, growth is a process, and every small step you take is progress.

Happy New Year. Here’s to rising higher in 2025!

Until next time, keep going and keep growing.
